Broke with very little pressure. Unfortunately no way to get the file to just 3D print the broken parts. Now just have disappointing paper weight.

Very satisfying kit. Just enough fidgeting to be so interesting.Works fine with some adjustments.Building takes some patience. Have thick superglue handy, as some parts need glueing.I'm working on a way to stop some marbles getting caught inside the elevator.I recommend this kit for more experienced builders. And look forward to more motorized marble run kits from this company.

I had high hopes for this product and project. I've done several of these "wooden 3-D puzzles" before (not really a puzzle, more of an assembly) and they've all come out great with minimal or no adjustments needed. From the start, this one appeared to be different.The numbering on the wood panels aren't always placed in the best location for the piece. Some parts are nested inside others, and the "outside" pieces are used long before the "inside" pieces, for which you now have no labels. The wood appears to be the usual depth and sturdiness for this type of product, and comes in a few different colors. There is also one sheet of plastic parts.The instructions are almost entirely color illustrations with a couple of pictures. Unfortunately there are some ambiguous illustrations where you just can't make out with way the part is supposed to face, which led to a few do-overs. Perhaps this is one reason that the item came with glue? Because you'll be re-attaching parts already within the first few pages?The spiral tower became very problematic for me. first, the frame around it is assembled with the vertical supports inserted into the base, the core inserted into the supports, and a cap on top. It takes a few tries -- no big deal -- but then these plastic slides don't really align well with the supports. The spiral part on the core is just too thin or soft and can't "push" the ball up to the top of the ride, with the ball constantly slipping between the spiral and falling into the center of the core.I started to think about ways that I could improve on it; it didn't need to look great but I wanted it to function. Some drops of glue to keep the spiral from expanding? Didn't really work. Some masking tape around the spiral so that there is no space for the ball to go? Not pretty, but would work.Luckily (?) a few days later, my kid accidentally knocked the model over and half of it came apart, with one part actually snapping. I took it as a sign that this one was not to be, and the parts quickly found their way to the trash heap.

This was a fun build. It is a wooden model, and all of the pieces and supplies are included. You don't need it, but I also used a cutting mat and a stronger glue. I found that the materials are all durable and well-made. I found the color instructions, for the most part, intuitive and easy to follow.While 90% of the instructions were great, there were a couple of challenges. There was one piece mislabeled in the instructions; just a typo. Because of the clear picture, it is easy to see that they meant part 15, not part 5.The second issue is in steps 78, 79, and 80. Specifically, do not put the black parts (G-19 & G-23) on to C-5 yet. Wait until C-5 gets attached to H-2, THEN attach the black pieces (after step 80). If it isn't done in this order, the assembled piece of step 78 won't fit on H-2.The third issue is that now that it is assembled, my model will need a lot of tweaking to work properly. Most of the time, the ball follows the tracks beautifully. However, it messes up each path when it gets to the spiral. If it works, it's really cool, but fixing one makes another go out of alignment.Outside of these issues, this is a spectacular kit. I'm sure I'll get it working, but it is a little letdown that it's going to be a lot of fiddling to do yet.Most of the pieces fit together magnificently. They pop into place and really are artistic in the design. I'm impressed overall by the ingenuity of this piece. It is an ingenious puzzle and was a lot of fun.This would make a great gift for a teen or adult.

I build a lot of wood 3D puzzles. This was one of my favorite, most challenging, and satisfying puzzles to build. If you have a lot of patience, don��t rush to finish, and pay plenty of close attention to the parts position and direction you will do well. I sand all parts smooth getting rid of any attachment tits and wax all parts that will move against another. If parts fit too tight sand the slots slightly so parts fit more easily but still snug without breaking. If you break a part glue it with CA glue which holds tight and dries quickly. After completing the puzzle there will be some adjustments needed so the marbles run smoothly and don��t get stuck on any of the runs. If this happens make sure all parts are fully pushed together in the slots and are not loose. At this time you can glue some parts to stay in the proper position so marbles run smoothly from one part or assembly to another. After a few adjustments which all wood puzzles need the completed assembly works perfectly. I would definitely recommend this puzzle to add to your collection.
