I have built a lot of marble runs and this is a very difficult one. The timber does not go together well, as the joints are too loose. Pieces that should go together firmly don't, and after i lot of trouble i had to half pull the thing apart so that i could glue important pieces together. Of particular concern are the toggle switches, of which there are three, as they are all too loose and require gluing and some customisation. I eventually got the thing to work but it was a troublesome build. Not suitable for beginners.

Great model as it has several marble paths making it a joy to watch as the marbles go down the different paths.
It has built in processes that make the marble change directions. This allows for the enjoyment of seeing it take a different path even if it had just been there.
Love the three spiral areas and watching the marbles go around and around then drop down to the next path.

Broke with very little pressure. Unfortunately no way to get the file to just 3D print the broken parts. Now just have disappointing paper weight.

Very satisfying kit. Just enough fidgeting to be so interesting.Works fine with some adjustments.Building takes some patience. Have thick superglue handy, as some parts need glueing.I'm working on a way to stop some marbles getting caught inside the elevator.I recommend this kit for more experienced builders. And look forward to more motorized marble run kits from this company.

I had high hopes for this product and project. I've done several of these "wooden 3-D puzzles" before (not really a puzzle, more of an assembly) and they've all come out great with minimal or no adjustments needed. From the start, this one appeared to be different.The numbering on the wood panels aren't always placed in the best location for the piece. Some parts are nested inside others, and the "outside" pieces are used long before the "inside" pieces, for which you now have no labels. The wood appears to be the usual depth and sturdiness for this type of product, and comes in a few different colors. There is also one sheet of plastic parts.The instructions are almost entirely color illustrations with a couple of pictures. Unfortunately there are some ambiguous illustrations where you just can't make out with way the part is supposed to face, which led to a few do-overs. Perhaps this is one reason that the item came with glue? Because you'll be re-attaching parts already within the first few pages?The spiral tower became very problematic for me. first, the frame around it is assembled with the vertical supports inserted into the base, the core inserted into the supports, and a cap on top. It takes a few tries -- no big deal -- but then these plastic slides don't really align well with the supports. The spiral part on the core is just too thin or soft and can't "push" the ball up to the top of the ride, with the ball constantly slipping between the spiral and falling into the center of the core.I started to think about ways that I could improve on it; it didn't need to look great but I wanted it to function. Some drops of glue to keep the spiral from expanding? Didn't really work. Some masking tape around the spiral so that there is no space for the ball to go? Not pretty, but would work.Luckily (?) a few days later, my kid accidentally knocked the model over and half of it came apart, with one part actually snapping. I took it as a sign that this one was not to be, and the parts quickly found their way to the trash heap.
