We received this as a gift for my nine-year-old and when I noticed it said 14 and older, I realized it was really a gift for me. I was not quite prepared for how tedious this was going to be, but in the end, it was well worth it. Here are some pros and cons:Pros:- This is a DIY project and very rewarding in the end. Ive included a video of the final results and my daughter absolutely loves it. I also have enjoyed watching the marbles go round and round.-The instructions are extremely detailed. There are 71 detailed diagrams with arrows and close-ups of exactly what goes where.- I love that its (99%) wood and not cheap plastic.Cons:- As many others commented, these pieces are very fragile. You must be extremely patient and careful, and must go very slow when popping the pieces out of the boards. They are very thin veneer and if you go too fast, THEY WILL BREAK. Despite about six broken pieces from when my daughter was helping, we were able to salvage them all with the included glue!-Youll need sufficient light and even more patience.- There are a couple issues with the manual. Despite it being beautifully/ well-illustrated, there are some errors which derailed me a couple times. Ive documented them in the photos.1. The small pieces inside the circles (H1) used for the tower are actually part a which are used throughout the kit. They are not labeled anywhere we could find. We almost threw them away after we made the tower in step 12. Keep them!2. In step 28, it references A11 instead of C13. I was extremely frustrated looking for A11 until I realized this was merely a typo. It should say glue C13 to the engraving line3. In step 58, G10 and G11 are labeled backwards - either on the board or in the manual. Its pretty intuitive if you have both pieces vs one at a time but beware, theyre flip flopped.4. Step 11/12 the tower: this is the most difficult part of the project imo and where the most pieces were broken due to lack of patience by my 9yo. I almost broke one of the circles myself so be ready, go slow and be very careful. All in all, I would highly recommend this fun DIY project for determined, patient, crafty older kids. And adults ??Final video included - very satisfying

Well made and lots of fun

This is fun to assemble, it works really well once put together, and the pieces are surprisingly high quality and very precisely cut. There was one piece that was a bit hard to assemble, and one of the pieces broke, but they anticipated that, and there were spares of that component, so it was not an issue. I have bought more from this company because this one was so much fun.

Mostly Good

I'll admit, I was doing good with assembly until step 10 then broke a piece and haven't touched it since. It was likely my fault but it killed my excitement.

Works very well

This is a most amazing marble run being motorized. Everything fit very well, with a few parts needing some glue to hold.Recommend for a patient builder. Lots of action in a small space. For the price you cant go wrong.I really enjoyed the build, and will proudly display it.
